Campamento Hidalgo
Located just 20 mins north of Cobá near the Yucatán/Quintana Roo border, this small town of about 150 people newly features a 1.5 kilometer trail around a small lake. Along the route are the Mayan names for local plants and a guided tour includes a description of these plants and their uses in the community. Before and after the tour, relax in their palapa with a view of the lake and a refreshing breeze. Just make sure and bring your hammock.
Handcrafts and honey produced in the village and of local materials can be purchased in the main square of town as well as beverages and snacks in a few small home-tiendas.
